Frequently asked questions about consultations

Below are the questions clients ask most often before registering. If yours isn't covered, contact our team and we'll answer directly.

The short answers, before the detail

Registration, session formats, who you speak with, and what happens to your information — each answered in a line, with the fuller version further down.

How do I register for a consultation?
Complete the registration form on this site with your contact details and goal. We'll match you with a dietitian and send available times.
Who will I be consulting with?
A registered dietitian from our network, matched to your focus area and life stage.
Can I choose chat instead of video?
Yes. You choose chat, call, or video for each session.
What if I need to reschedule?
Contact our team and we'll arrange a new time with your dietitian.
Do I have to commit to several sessions?
No. You can start with one session and decide about follow-up afterward.
Is my information kept private?
Yes. See our privacy policy for how we handle personal data.

Registration and getting started

From form to first session, step by step

Registering takes a few minutes through the form on this site. You share your name, contact details, general goal, and anything relevant to your life stage — pregnancy and breastfeeding, an older parent you cook for, a busy work schedule, or a condition your doctor has asked you to manage through food.

We review the details and match you with a dietitian. You'll hear back with available times for your first session, usually within our office hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. There is no charge to submit the form and no obligation to book once you see the times.

If your situation changes between registering and your first session — a new diagnosis, a different work shift, a family member joining the household — reply to the same message and tell us. The match still works, and your dietitian walks in already knowing the context.

"If the match doesn't feel right, tell us. We'll arrange a different dietitian."

Matching is a conversation, not a lottery. Most clients stay with their first dietitian, and the ones who don't usually just needed a different focus area.

Consultation formats

Chat, call, or video — you pick each time

Sessions run by chat, call, or video. Chat suits short questions and follow-ups; calls and video suit fuller discussions. All formats work from a phone or laptop, so location isn't a barrier — you can consult from Medan, Jakarta, Surabaya, or wherever you happen to be that week.

Chat

Good for a single question, a check-in after a plan change, or a quick follow-up when you don't need a whole call. You can send photos of meals or labels, and your dietitian replies with practical adjustments.

Best when: the question is narrow, or your schedule shifts often.

Phone call

A fuller conversation without needing a camera. Useful if you're cooking, commuting, or talking somewhere with unreliable video. Works well for reviewing a week of meals and agreeing what to change.

Best when: you want back-and-forth, but not a formal meeting setup.

Video

The closest thing to sitting across the table. Suited to a first assessment, questions about a new life stage, or reviewing a plan your doctor has asked you to follow. Screen sharing helps when you want to look at a plan together.

Best when: the topic is broad, or you're starting out.

Dietitian credentials and how matching works

Every dietitian on our network is reviewed before joining, and we check qualifications and focus areas. When you register, we match you with someone whose experience fits your situation.

  • Review before joining

We look at credentials and the areas a dietitian actually works in day to day — maternal nutrition and breastfeeding, growth and school-age eating, older-adult needs, everyday weight and metabolic goals. A dietitian stays on the network only while those details hold up.

  • Matching by situation, not just topic

Two people may both ask about "eating better" and need different help. The registration note tells us your life stage, your routine, and whether a doctor has already set a direction — that's what we use to choose the dietitian, not a keyword match.

  • Changing dietitian

If the match doesn't feel right, contact us and we'll arrange a different dietitian. There's no negotiation needed and no charge for the change — just tell us what's missing and we'll look again.

Meal plans and follow-up

Plans built from Indonesian food and your real routine

After your assessment, your dietitian builds a meal plan tailored to your needs (kebutuhan gizi), based on Indonesian food and your routine. That means the plan works with rice, tempeh, tofu, fish, vegetables, and the market stalls and kitchens you actually use, not with ingredients you'd have to hunt for.

Follow-up sessions monitor how it's going and adjust the plan. The pace of follow-up is up to you — some clients check in weekly at the start, then move to monthly once the rhythm settles; others prefer a longer gap. Nothing renews automatically.

Plans are written around what's already on your table — tempeh, fish, vegetables, rice.

Practical questions

Small things that come up before a first booking, answered plainly so you can decide without a call.

Guidance, not treatment

Consultations are guidance on food and routine, not medical treatment. Where a question needs a doctor, your dietitian will say so and point you to one.

Do I need lab results to start?

You don't need lab results to begin, though they help if you have them. If a recent check-up gave you numbers your doctor wants you to follow up on, share them — the plan can then work alongside what your doctor has set out.

Should I change my diet before my first session?

No. Keep eating the way you normally do. Your first session goes better when your dietitian sees the honest starting point — what you actually buy, cook, and eat during a normal week.

What if I'm cooking for a whole household?

Say so when you register. Your dietitian can shape a plan that works for the person being consulted and stays workable for everyone else at the table, so you're not preparing a separate meal every night.

Can a family member join the session?

Yes, on video or call. Having the person who shops and cooks in the room often saves a follow-up — bring them if it makes the plan easier to keep.

How is my information kept private?

Your registration details and session notes are used to provide the consultation and are handled under our privacy policy. Ask us if you want to know what's held and how to remove it.

More common questions

Expand the ones that apply to you. If something is still unclear, reach us through the contact page and we'll answer directly.

Do I need to be online at a set time each week?

No. You book each session at a time that works for you, and you're not tied to the same slot every week. If your shifts change, you book around them.

What do I need to have ready before my first session?

Just your goal in plain words, roughly what you cook and eat during a normal week, and any health context your dietitian should know. Nothing needs to be prepared in advance. A quiet spot and working internet are enough for chat, call, or video.

How quickly will I hear back after registering?

We review new registrations during office hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and reply with available times after the match is made. Submissions that arrive late in the day or on a weekend are picked up on the next working day.

Can I consult about a child or an older parent?

Yes. Say who the consultation is for when you register. Dietitians on the network work across life stages, from growth and school-age eating to the food needs that come with getting older, and the plan is written for the person in front of them.

How do I pay for a session?

Payment is arranged when you confirm your first session, after you've seen the available times and agreed to one. Message our team and they'll walk you through the current options before you're booked down to anything.

What if I want to stop, or pause for a while?

There is no lock-in. You can pause or stop at any point — tell your dietitian or contact our team and your account simply waits. You can come back later and, if you do, the earlier notes are still on file to pick up from.
